Back to Work

I am headed back to work tomorrow. I am excited about it!! Staying home for three weeks sure had its challenges. I am not used to being with Brie 24/7, so half of the time I was tearing out my hair. She is absolutely wonderful, but her energy level is about mine times 1000. I don't know how my mom does it. I feel like I have to pay attention to her non-stop...maybe that's the problem. I know she has to learn how to play by herself too, but then I feel like I'm neglecting her! AHH! Well, I won't have to think about that for another 5 months :). I am excited about the stuff I'm teaching this semester and I have a lot of other responsibilities at school as well, which are just the right amount of challenging. This working mama is ready to hang up her "stay-at-home" gloves. I don't know how you all do it (all of my WONDERFUL stay-at-home moms). You are terrific and I wish I could be more like you.

Matt's Trip to St. Louis

Matt took the college students from our church again to Urbana, a missions conference sponsored by Intervarsity. He was gone for a week and spent New Year's Eve there. The group got a dose of snow and freezing temperatures. Overall he had an enjoyable time with the students.

We had a great Christmas! Brie sort of got into the opening of gifts. It was too much fun to buy things for her and wrap them up. She received lots of nice gifts from all of our family. Matt and I were also blessed greatly by our families. I am currently enjoying spending all of my gift cards :).

Brie and her cousin!

Happy Birthday Brie!

Hard to believe my little girl is already one. She is such a little bundle of energy. We have had quite a year with her. Since the day she was born, she has been a joy to have around. Matt is always amazed at how "human" she is. We are so blessed to have her!!! Brie's birthday party was lots of fun. We had a kitty cat party, since that is her favorite thing on the planet. The party was at my parents' house - lots of family came to celebrate with us. She had her first cupcake and loved it!

Our little sweetie was a doctor for Halloween. She enjoyed dressing up in her baby scrubs and toting around her little doctor bag. We went over to my mom and dad's house and went to a few of their neighbor's houses for trick-or-treating (for posterity).
